In June, there is an annual Village Day celebration in Newton Highlands. It is a celebration of the community and the main event is a 5 kilometer road race. Village Day also has live music from local bands, a small carnival for younger children and crafts and local food are sold all day to celebrators.
Since 1959 the neighborhood has had its own MBTA Green Line station (Newton Highlands), and the village is still known for its annual celebration in June called Village Day, a general celebration for the Newton Highlands community.
