Newton Lower Falls, Massachusetts, a village of Newton, is known for being “on” the Charles River, with its commercial area extending across the river into an area known as Wellesley Lower Falls (where a majority of the retail businesses are). Believe it or not, the Charles River drops 18 feet over less than a quarter mile at Lower Falls, thus the name Newton Lower Falls. Also known for its easy access to the Mass Pike, it is a popular village to live in.
